SYR-ROUND THE CHILDREN PROJECT

“International Symposium on Migration and Children”

17-18 November 2016 Istanbul/Turkey

International Symposium on Migrati on and Children, aims to address the phenomenon of migration, which includes historical, economic, social and political dimensions, in terms of children and discuss on a scientific basis.

As part of the Symposium, children’s experiences during their both domestic and external migration process and their economic, cultural, psycho-social and educational problems are to be discussed on the basis of different academic disciplines. It is considered that investigation of this issue in the scope of sociology, history, philosophy, cinema, literature, psychology, law, education and anthropology, will contribute to solution offers and policy making in this area.

This Symposium will be carried out within the project of Civil Society Dialogue Grant Scheme, named “Syr-round the Children Project” and numbered TR2011/0135.15-04/008, financed by EU and Turkey, with the partnership of Üsküdar University, Hacı Habibullah Geredevi Foundation (HAGEV) and CEIPES (Italy).

The papers that will reach our board on the date specified, will be grouped according to theme and sessions will be organized accordingly. The language of the Symposium is Turkish and English.

ABOUT OUR PROGRAMME

Civil Society Dialogue is a programme bringing together civil society organisations from Turkey and the EU around common topics, to exchange knowledge and experience, and to build a sustained conversation between the organisations.

The Programme is co-financed by the European Union and the Republic of Turkey under the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (IPA). The Ministry for European Union Affairs is the responsible institution for the technical implementation of the programme, while the Central Finance and Contracts Unit is the contracting authority.

Since its launch in 2008, the Civil Society Dialogue Programme has supported over 600 dialogue partnerships through 350 projects in many different fields, witnessing hundreds of activities to bring EU and Turkish communities closer together and create a greater mutual understanding amongst them. To date through the first three phase, a total of 42.5 million Euros has funded these activities.

The fourth phase of the programme is suppoting projects across nine policy areas of the EU with a total budget of 11 million Euros. These areas include environment; energy; consumer and health protection; justice, freedom and security; right of establishment and freedom to provide services; regional policy and coordination of structural instruments; enterprise and industrial policy; agriculture and fisheries and education.

PROPOSAL PREPARATION GUIDELINES

Order of the Page
*Proposals should be written  on a A4 page  and you should give space 2.5 cm from right, left, up and down of the page. Writings should be written with 1.5 cm line spacing between lines .Page number should not be given to the pages.

Title
*Title should be written 14 point with Arial font and in bold.
*The words first letters which forms the title should be written in capital, the other ones are small.
*The Turkish and English meaning of the title should be written one under the other.

The Name(s) of Author(s)
*The name of author or authors should be written 12 point with Arial font and normal which is given a line space.
*The institutions which authors works in  should be written under the names with the same font.
*The author’s academic title, university, faculty, department and e-mail address should be written under the first page with giving postscript .

Summary
*Proceeding summary should be written 10 point with Arial font and there should  be 1.5 cm line spacing  between lines.
*Summary should involve proceeding’s aim, method and the result.
*Summary should be formed with the most 200 words.
*There should be given at least 3 at most 6 key words under the summary
*There should be English meaning of the key words with the same font under the summary.

Main text
*Main text should be written 11 point with Arial font and spacing out 1.5 cm between the lines.
*The Main text should be made up of the subtitles of introduction, method, findings, conclusion and discussion, bibliography
*Subtitles should be written 12 point with Arial font in bold and they should be on the left side of the page.

Charts and Formats( if there is in the proceeding)
*Charts and formats should be prepared suitable to be published and placed in the text.
*There should be given number to the charts and formats and written titles to them.
*The titles of the charts and formats should be written 11 point with Arial font in bold on the left side of the page.
*There should be used only three horizontal lines not vertical lines in charts.

Demonstration Source in the Text
*When you demonstrate source in the text, you should demonstrate quotations which is taken from the other sources in parenthesis.
*The surname of the author, publication year of the work and page number should be demonstrated in source parenthesis (Ex. Sever, 2013:25)
*If there are two different authors who have two or more studies in the same parenthesis, sources are demonstrated to the alphabetic al order of the surnames of authors (Ex. Göktürk, 1998; Uygur, 1985; Vygotsky, 1962)
*When you cannot reach original source, the information of the people who quote are given.

Demonstration Source in Bibliography Part
*All sources in the text should be indicated in bibliography part.
*Works in bibliography part should be organized to the alphabetical order of the surnames of the authors.
*Book, article, proceeding, thesis and dictionary sources should be indicated in bibliography.

Abstracts should be written in English.

Abstracts should be prepared with Microsoft Word format.

Typing area of ​​each page should be regulated as so to remain 3,5 cm left, right, above and below.

Abstract should be written by using Times New Roman font, justified and 1.5-line spacing.

Paper title: 14 font size, bold, initials are capital, centered

Author/Authors’ name: Centered and 12 font size

Institution: Centered and 12 font size

E-mail address should be written with 10 font size

Key words should be min 3, up to 5 words
